Waldo Pérez and Paulina Vidal will lead for the next two years (2024-2026) the “Study of natural hazards and climate change in operational areas of Anglo American”, located in the Metropolitan and Valparaíso Regions.
The project will be led by Paul Amouroux and aims to evaluate with camera-traps the activity and abundance of Ceroglossus spp populations in the forests of the Exploradores Valley in Aysén, during 2024 and 2025.
The future forestry engineers, with academics, traveled to Frutillar to acquire knowledge and tools for the characterization and sustainable management of forest resources as part of their professional training.
The list is dedicated to diaspidids, commonly called scales (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccoidea: Diaspididae), which were collected in crops, public urban parks, roadsides and areas protected by the State.
The educational material on “Climate change in central Chile” is part of a series of “Reconnecting with Nature” booklets promoted by the Center for Applied Ecology and Sustainability (CAPES) and supported by Anglo American.
