“Hémera” Earth Observation Center was created in 2017 to fill the need of pushing knowledge and innovation in remote sensing application and research through strategic alliances with public and private sector at both national and international level, to impulse and support the development of agriculture, forest management and conservation, mining industry, tourism, and energy sector, among others.
Waldo Pérez and Paulina Vidal will lead for the next two years (2024-2026) the “Study of natural hazards and climate change in operational areas of Anglo American”, located in the Metropolitan and Valparaíso Regions.
The project will be led by Paul Amouroux and aims to evaluate with camera-traps the activity and abundance of Ceroglossus spp populations in the forests of the Exploradores Valley in Aysén, during 2024 and 2025.
The future forestry engineers, with academics, traveled to Frutillar to acquire knowledge and tools for the characterization and sustainable management of forest resources as part of their professional training.
