HÉMERA AND CYBERSECURITY CENTERS, TOGETHER WITH FORESTRY ENGINEERING, ARE AWARDED ATACAMA REGIONAL GOVERNMENT PROJECT Hemera | Universidad Mayor

The Regional Government has the Atacama Territorial Information System (SIT-Atacama), which allows sharing and visualizing layers of information with the different users of the territory.

However, in order to improve decision making, the regional authority has the need to strengthen this system with social, economic, territorial and environmental information, to systematize the problems and needs, and with data on the different economic and productive activities they develop.

The initiative is led by Waldo Pérez and Leonardo Durán, together with the team of researchers and assistants from the Hémera Center; Cristian Barría, director of the Cybersecurity Research Center, and Enrique Arce, director of the School of Forestry Engineering.

During 18 months, all of them will work in coordination with the Land Management area of the Regional Planning and Development Division (DIPLADE) of the Regional Government of Atacama.
