In the upper sector of the Mapocho river basin in the Metropolitan Region, there are natural hazards that could threaten the safety of the population. In order to be prepared, it is crucial to increase knowledge of the characteristics of the basin, especially the geomorphology, geology, hydrography and the effects of climate change in this area.
As part of the project "Study of geology, geomorphology and natural hazards in the upper sector of the Mapocho River basin", the Biodiversity and Climate Change Management, Vice-Presidency of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability of Anglo American, together with researchers and assistants from Centro Hémera developed educational material about the geomorphology in the upper basin of the Mapocho River in the Metropolitan Region.
