Iongel Durán, postdoctoral researcher at the Earth Observation Center Hémera U. Mayor, collaborated in the elaboration of the Communicational Series Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems (EDAS, from spanish Ecosistemas dependientes de Aguas Subterránea) in Semi-Arid Environments, of the Center of Water Resources for Agriculture and Mining (CRHIAM).
The objective of the document is to lay the groundwork for the study of groundwater-dependent ecosystems, providing an introduction to their study, conceptualization and promoting the need for their conservation and protection. It also proposes sustainable management measures, methods for their correct mapping and a case study in central Chile.
