This publication, promoted by Anglo American, presents scientific and technical evidence derived from research and territorial activities carried out by academics, consultants and professionals in the Lo Barnechea district and the upper basin of the Mapocho River to understand and characterize the biotic, abiotic and human components present in these mountain ecosystems, as well as to identify, measure and address the consequences of human activity in an area highly sensitive to the consequences of climate change.
The chapter developed by Hémera, "Rainfall-induced mass removal under climate change scenarios in the Yerba Loca basin, central Chile" presents a modeling of debris flows and floods in the area associated with heavy rains.
The chapter, "Climate change, vegetation resources and livestock: passive restoration
pilot project in Los Nogales Nature Sanctuary, Metropolitan Region of Santiago, Chile" presents the monitoring of the impacts of summer grazing on mountain ecosystems in the context of climate change.
