In the Los Nogales Nature Sanctuary, located in Lo Barnechea, in the Metropolitan Region, the meadows are ecosystems that stand out for their biodiversity and are used for livestock grazing by local communities.

The use of these natural environments has effects on the provision of goods and services, making it essential to design sustainable management schemes from an ecological, socioeconomic and cultural perspective.

As part of the project “Study of geology, geomorphology and natural hazards in the upper sector of the Mapocho River basin”, the Biodiversity and Climate Change management and the Vice-Presidency of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability of Anglo American, together with researchers and assistants from the Hémera Center, developed educational material on the importance of these sites.
