The central zone of Chile has incalculable natural and cultural wealth, but unfortunately it is under constant threat. For this reason, the Center for Applied Ecology and Sustainability (CAPES) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, with the support of Anglo American, developed a series of booklets for students in the second cycle of elementary school.

Under the slogan “Reconnecting with Nature”, different corners of our nature are explored through the eyes of experts who guide in the study and care of flora and fauna, glaciers, water, ecological conservation and climate change in the central zone.

In this new edition, developed by Centro Hémera and the Institute of Agri-Food, Animal and Environmental Sciences (ICA3) of the Universidad de O'Higgins, we will learn more about climate change, its causes and effects, and how we can organize together new ways to face its consequences and take care of the environment and people.

We hope this material will inspire you to continue investigating these issues and to become an agent of change for the environment.
